Thomas "Tom" Franklin Tomberlin

Thomas (Tom) Franklin Tomberlin, 82  of Boones Mill, died at his home on October 10, 2024, after a brief illness. He was born on January 7, 1942 in Nashville, GA. He graduated from Valdosta High School in 1960 and Valdosta State College in 1964 with a B.S. degree in Accounting. He retired from Doctors Laboratory, Inc. In 2005 after serving 25 years as a Chief Financial Officer.

He met his future wife while they were attending Valdosta High School and Northside Baptist Church in Valdosta, GA. They were married there on June 10, 1962. After retirement and moving to VA, he and Judy became active members of Cave Spring Baptist Church, Roanoke, VA.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Judy Bland Tomberlin and his children Elizabeth T. Brown and spouse Dempsey Brown of Boones Mill, VA and son Gregory A. Tomberlin and spouse Robin Malcotti of Mount Airy, MD. His grandchildren are Paige Brown of North Dinwiddie, VA, Ryan Brown, Bothell, WA, Alex Tomberlin of Social Circle, GA, and Anna Malcotti of Mount Airy, MD and several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Edward Tomberlin and Earl and Lilla Mae Stewart and his in-laws H.M. and Artie Bland, his brother Dr, Joseph A. Tomberlin and sister-in-law Norma Lou Tomberlin, and his sister Janice T. Goff and a brother-in-law Burt Goff, and his sister-in-law Dorothy Hall and brother-in-law Charlie Hall.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home in Rocky Mount, VA on October 14, 2024. Viewing will held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the the funeral home.
