Tony Lee Powell age 61 of Glade Hill, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019.
Tony was raised on his beloved Powell Family Farm. He graduated from Franklin County High School and then Ferrum College graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1984. After graduation from Ferrum, he went on to work at the college becoming the Director of AV Services, until 1994. He was also a dispatcher for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department from 2000 to 2015 having a calm demeanor that brought comfort to those that encountered his services.
Tony was born September 28, 1957 a son of Audrey Lynch Powell and the late Raymond Powell. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Doris Dent Powell and Everett and Ethel Lynch, all of Redwood.
In addition to his mother Audrey, he leaves behind numerous cousins, many friends and colleagues.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Henry Fork Church of the Brethren with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Powell Family Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 12th with his family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at Henry Fork Church of the Brethren.
