Velma Perdue Kendrick

Velma Perdue Kendrick age 93 of Vinton passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at her home. She was born on March 3, 1931, the last of ten children to the late Lewis C. and Annie Kate Holland Perdue of Glade Hill, VA. She was a member of Vinton Baptist church and retired with 43 years of service in the banking industry last working for First Union Bank.

She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 74 years, Jack Kyle Kendrick; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She also leaves behind her canine companion, Buddy.

The family will accept flowers or please consider memorial contributions in her name to Vinton Baptist Church, 219 E. Washington, Avenue, Vinton, VA 24179.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Vinton Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Travis Russell and the Rev. Dr. Chris Monroe officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The Kendrick Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 18th from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
