Vernie Perdue

Vernie P. Law (Little Mom), age 96 of Glade Hill died Friday, July 29, 2011. She was born January 1, 1915 in Franklin County, a daughter of the late Hampton and Betty Perdue and was also preceded in death by her husband, E. Herman Law; two brothers Ed and Harvie Perdue; three sisters, Vickie Holland, Fern Ferguson and Cheryl Perdue. Surviving are one son, Elton W. Law, Sr.; six grandchildren, Elton Law, Jr., Herman P. Law (Sherry), Richard Law, Kenny Law (Tammy), Donald Law and Frances Lenora Law; nine great-grandchildren, Kolton Law, Ashland Law, Leslie Law, Julia Law, William Law, Hunter Law, Brittany Law, Devana Law and Elizabeth Vernie Lee Law; two step-great-grandchildren, Victoria and Brittany; several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are three sisters, Eliza Carter, Molley Holland and Hazel Zeigler; brother Charles Perdue; two sisters-in-law, Douglas David, Margaret Perdue; special friends, Elnora Pasley, mother of her grandchildren, Cheryl Adkins, Katie Austin, Polly Mitchell, Cathy Roope, Mary Mitchell, Terri Newman and Deanna Goad. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2011 with Rev. Belle Robertson and Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in the Law Family Cemetery. The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Carilion Clinic Hospice of Franklin County, 180 Floyd Avenue, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
