Virginia Onielee Lumpkins Agee Celebrating going home to be with Jesus. Heaven’s gate has opened to let this precious soul in. Born July 2, 1916, Virginia went home to be with the Lord November 9, 2017. She was 101 years old. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Agee; two daughters, Shirley Sisk, Barbara Carter; granddaughter, Sonia L. Underwood; grandson, Ira Lee Stark. Surviving are her daughters, Susan McGhee (Ray), Ann Agee; grandchildren, Vickie Burkett (Ed), Alan Stark, Junior Sisk (Susan), Ray McGhee, Jr. (Wendy), Shane Wray (Mandy), Eric Wray (Kelli), Matthew McGhee (Hollie); 16 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; sister, Mattie Massey. Virginia was born in Pittsylvania County, VA to the parents Robert and Virginia Lumpkins. She was the third of six daughters. She wasn’t a stranger to hard work by helping her father work in the fields. She, her husband and two oldest daughters moved to Washington, DC and there Virginia worked in many school cafeterias. They then had two more daughters and moved to Vienna, VA. Virginia worked in Fairfax County at Highs Ice Cream store. Virginia and her family moved back to Franklin County in 1966 to reside in Ferrum, VA. The last five years she resided at Trinity Mission where she went home to be with the Lord. She has been blessed in so many ways and made that statement often. She loved God, her family, her church family and her country. She attended Evangelistic House Of Prayer for over 30 years. She leaves a wonderful legacy for all to follow. She would say “The Lord has been so good to me, He helped me through all my troubles and trails. And I praise Him every day. I couldn’t get along without Jesus in my life.” And now she has gone home to be with him. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. before the service.
