Vivian M. Jones Peters, affectionately known as Nana, passed away suddenly in the late evening of Wednesday night, November 5, 2014, 8 days shy of her 87th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Corbie F. Peters, her loving parents and all her siblings. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and foster mother. She is survived by her 3 children; Fred Peters of Rocky Mount, Kathy Hodges and much loved son-in-law, Wayne Hodges of Rocky Mount, and Ruby D. Hunt and husband, Jimmie Hunt; four grandchildren, Shana Brown, husband, Robert Brown, Charlie Hodges and wife, Sarah Betterton, Jagger Hunt, Annsleigh Hunt; two great grandchildren, Margaret Anne Hodges, Corbin S. Brown and Scarlett Kroedel, who was like a great granddaughter and her mother, Shanna Housman, who was like a granddaughter; special friend, Virginia Chaney; very special sister-in-law, Mildred Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; and special neighbors, Junior and Susie Palmer. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Jones Family Cemetery (in front of Fairview Church of the Brethren, Route 40 West.) The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home, 353 Round Hill Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
