Warren Robertson

Charles "Warren” Robertson, age 79 of Union Hall passed away Friday, January 22, 2016. He was born April 20, 1936 to the late John Thomas and Elsie Plybon Robertson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William Calvin and wife, Gloria Robertson and John Elwood Robertson; brothers-in-law, Wesley Ridgway and Harry L. Smith. Warren was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. He served in the local Army National Guard and retired from The Lane Company with 43 years of service. During his retirement, he enjoyed working at Seven Oaks Landscaping, Rocky Mount Supply Company and most recently, The Kroger Company in Rocky Mount. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Janet Smith Robertson; son, Anthony Robertson and wife, Denise; daughter, Belinda Mitchell and friend, Timothy Kelly; and the love of his life, his grandchildren, granddaughter, Taylor Robertson and grandsons, Evan and Bryce Mitchell and their dad, Andrew Mitchell. Also surviving are his sister, Jewell Ridgway and son Jerry (Glenna) Ridgway; brother-in-law, Michael (Vicky) Smith; sisters-in-law, Linda (Marlen) Davis, Dianne (Jay Hugh) Hall, Barbara (Lewis) Conner, Barbara Wray Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glade Hill Fire Dept. PO Box 14, Glade Hill, VA 24092 or Franklin Heights Baptist Church, 110 Hilltop Drive, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Funeral Services will be conducted at Franklin Heights Baptist Church 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 with Dr. Stan Parris and Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park.
