Wayne Pugh passed away from health complications on Friday, July 1, 2022. He was proceeded in death by his parents, John Lewis and Ruby (Thurman) Pugh, sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Rudolph Delong, brother-in-law, Ed Norville, and his beautiful wife of 50 years, Vivian (Hatcher) Pugh. He is survived by daughters and son-in-laws, Sheryl and Mitch Cobbs, Stacey and Bryan Jones, grandsons, Chase (Elizabeth) Cobbs, Cade Cobbs, siblings, Roy (Donna) Pugh, Colleen Norville, Linda (Billy) LaPrade, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad in 2006, but remained passionate about trains, especially the N&W 611 steam locomotive. He believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and enjoyed spending time shopping at yard sales with his wife, playing bluegrass music in his community, and being in the company of his family. He loved to watch movies with his dog, Marcy, and he never turned down a Little Debbie Zebra Cake. Wayne always took time to talk to his friends and neighbors, and rarely met a stranger.
The family would like to especially thank Sarah Campbell and the entire staff at Fork Mountain Adult Home for their excellent care and kindness towards Wayne.
Funeral visitation and service will be conducted at Conner Bowman Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Visitation begins at 10:00AM with service beginning at 11:00AM with Rev. Elizabeth Lazenby officiating. Special music by Alan Messenger. Interment to follow at Franklin Memorial Park.
