Wesley Karavish, age 94 of Rocky Mount, VA and formerly of Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020. Gone is the twinkle in your eye. Gone is the “Wes” look. Forever in our hearts. Now resting with his Lord and Savior. He was born in
Port Homer, Ohio, one of six children.
Wes was a dedicated Father. Part of the Great Generation that stood up and did what had to be done all the while he never complained. He was a master carpenter until he “retired” in 1992. However, in retirement, he still loved to build. With that love, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, helping to build numerous houses for them. He also loved to plant his vegetable garden. But most of all, he loved to share the bounty of his harvest with family, friends, and neighbors. He was a veteran of WWII in the U. S. Army and fourth degree Knight with Knights of Columbus
He is survived by his children, Mary (Pete) Czernowski, Christina (Chris) Defibaugh; grandchild, Alex Czernowski; brother, Mike (Pat) Karavish; brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Kay) Cich, Patty (Jim) Ault, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helene Karavish; brothers, Paul, Alex, John and sister, Ann.
A special thank you to the Nurses, CNA’s and staff and Franklin Health and Rehabilitation for lovingly taking care of Dad.
