William T "Wild Bill" Chitwood

William Thomas Chitwood (Wild Bill), age 77, of Rocky Mount passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. A son of the late James Oliver and Wilda Davis Chitwood. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Roy Chitwood. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired truck driver for M W Windows/PlyGem Manufacturing. Surviving are his loving wife of 46 ½ years, Freida Houston Chitwood of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Chris Jones of Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Pamela Chitwood of Rocky Mount; three special granddaughters, Sarah and Kathryn Jones, Olivia Chitwood; sister, Mary Jane Burtch of Roanoke; two nephews; two nieces; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Krista and Donald Yopp, Danny Houston and friend, Sherry Smith; several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Dr. Jackie Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
