William Charles Martin

William Charles Martin, Jr., age 85, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WW II and was an avid golfer. Born on February 9, 1926, he was a son of the late William C., Sr. and Minnie Martin and was also preceded in death by his wife, Nell Martin. Mr. Martin is survived by his son, Bill Martin; and his granddaughter, Leanne Martin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the VA Medical Center (Long Term Care) 1970 Roanoke Blvd., Salem, Virginia 24153. A celebration of life gathering with food and fellowship will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the home of his son.
