William Lawrence Turner

November 7, 1942 - May 23, 2016 William Lawrence Turner, age 73 of Rocky Mount passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 7, 1942 a son of the late William Kelly Turner and Etta Turner Plybon. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Randolph Plybon. Mr. Turner is survived by his wife Sandra Turner; his step children, Kim and James (Digger) Wells, Mark and Tiffany Smith; grandchildren, Gage Foster, Ty Smith and Teresa (Tes) Smith; one great-grandchild, Eli Foster; brother, Glen Turner (Janet); sisters, Janice Perdue (Russell), Patricia Altice (Jimmy), Bonnie Smith (Paul) and Connie Hodges (Garrett) all of Franklin County; Herman Plybon (Betty) of Georgia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and golfing friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Chapel 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016 with Rev. Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The Turner Family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church, 30 Woodlawn Drive, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and other times at Mr. Turner’s home.
