William Walter Windsor

William Walter Windsor age 83 of Hardy passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in Lewis-Gale Medical Center. He was born April 21, 1941 a son of the late Earl and Janet Rose Smith Windsor. He grew up working on the family farm later becoming a beef cattle farmer before branching out into the "electrical" world starting out as a journeyman lineman working his way up to General Foreman. He retired with Davis H. Elliott with many years of service with them and he was a union member with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for many years. Providing for his family and being the perfect role model for them as he could as he strived on letting his actions speak for him better than words separated him from others. A man of few words but when he spoke, everyone listened. His valuable knowledge of things was unbelievable. He could make anything he set his mind to and turn nothing into something with his creative imagination and spirit. His window art, drawings and carvings spoke for itself. Harmonica and juice harp playing brought him joy and comfort and he was a fisherman at heart. He will be missed and always loved by those that knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Janet R. Windsor; his children, Charles J. Windsor (Sandy), David S. Windsor, Michelle R. Homrich and Elizabeth M. Hogan (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Zachary Windsor (Lauren), Nathaniel Windsor (Abby), Benjamin Windsor (Kyndra) and Jelena Weilbach (Jaques), Aimey Giacinto, Vicki Austin (Joe), Felicia Windsor, Rocky Homrich and Melanie Matulaitis (Gregory); 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Russell Windsor; and sisters, Shirley Latimer and Sharon Windsor; other family and many friends.
