Willie (Bill) Kirk 83, of Covington, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2015.
He was the son of the late Isaac L. and Nora Hite Kirk and was also preceded in death by five sisters, Thelma Arthur, Gladolia Jones, Dorothy Snyder, Pauline Duncan, Marie Bukovich; Four brothers, Glenn, Vermon, Maynard and Jim.
He is survived by his wife Violet Feury Kirk of Covington; and his son Richard Ray Feury and wife Karen, Hendersonville, NC; three Grandchildren, Karen, Robin and Brian; five Great-Grand children. He is also survived by many neices and nephews.
Willie was a Korean War Veteran and also taught School in Alleghany County with most of his career spent teaching at Central Elementary in LowMoor, Virginia.
Many will remember him for his wit and humor and his students knew him as a friendly teacher who liked to read to them and play games with them during recess.
He loved the Lord and loved people. He seemed to never know a stranger and was always ready to share his opinions and stories.
Though he did have his struggles in life he also touched the lives of so many with his smile, generosity and love.
A Memorial Service will be conducted 1p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the New Life Fellowship Church on Gravel Ridge Road, Covington. Virginia with Pastor Buddy Burks officiating. The family will receive visitors at the Church following the service.
In lieu of flowers a Memorial Contribution may be made to The New Life Fellowship Church in care of Jesse Carter at 1501 Gravel Ridge Dr. Covington,Va 24426.
