Wilson Mason

James Wilson Mason age 77 of Ferrum passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in the VA Medical Center. He was born March 30, 1944 a son of the late Charles Jessie and Ethel Mullins Mason. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Mason and son, Kenny Cook. Wilson was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a member and Deacon of Providence Baptist Church and American Legion Post 6. He retired from Kroger, Co. as a Butcher and was a funeral attendant with Conner-Bowman Funeral Home. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy C. Mason; his children, Jay Mason (Tina), Bill Cook (Tammy), Price Cook, Jo Ann Sawyer (Kenny) and Sue Jones (Mark); grandchildren, Logan Mason, Hannah Mason, Tab Eitner, Brad Cook, Erica Elkins, Heather Powell and Kris Black; eight great-grandchildren. Wilson is also survived by other family members, numerous friends including his church family. He will be missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Eugene Chitwood officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in his name to Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2861 Providence Church Rd, Henry, VA 24102. Due to the mandates placed by our Governor over Covid-19. We will be following the guidelines for social distancing and masks.
