Winfred Thomas Anderson

Winfred Thomas "Tommy" Anderson, 75, of Rocky Mount, VA passed away Friday, March 12, 2021. He was born April 1, 1945 the son of the late Winfred Clinton Anderson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Kay Anderson and a sister, Patty King. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army; a member of the Church of Christ in Vinton, VA since 1979. He served as Church Treasurer for 40 years and retired from Appalachian Power with 33 years of service. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, pop, and friend to us all. Surviving are his mother, Julia Naff Jennings; wife, Judy Anderson; two daughters, Jennifer Bennett (special friend, Dean Hodges), Tracy Wray (Doug); five grandchildren, Tucker Bennett, Charles Bennett, Alden Brammer, Cason Brammer, Madison Wray; three step brothers, Donnie Jennings (Brenda), Greg Jennings (Angie), Richard Jennings (Valerie); step sister, Beth Jennings. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, VA with Military Honors by the United States Army Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to the mandates placed by the Governor of Virginia over the Covid-19 pandemic, we will be following the guidelines for social distancing and face mask.
